As was announced today Messe Frankfurt postpones its Shanghai textile fairs Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Yarn Expo Spring and Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles which were due to be held 11-13 March at the National Exhibition and Convention Center.
“[...] We stand fully behind the government’s efforts to control the outbreak,” Ms. Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd outlined. “[...] With the wellbeing of all our stakeholders in mind, we have made the decision to reschedule our upcoming textile fairs in Shanghai to a later date.”
Equally, the organizers of Chic-China International Fashion Fair informed that the trade show, also originally scheduled 11-13 March at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, will be postponed, “in order to effectively protect the health of exhibitors, trade visitors, staff and the public and to ensure an efficient trade fair for all participants,” as it says in a press release by Chic.
The team behind fabrics show Milano Unica, which had planned its upcoming edition in Shanghai 11-13 March, also confirmed to postpone the trade show.
New dates for the above shows have not been announced yet, but “will be made in due course”, as the organizers say.
Meanwhile the effects of the coronavirus are spreading further.
The Denim and Jeans show (scheduled from March 4-5, 2020 in Tokyo) has been cancelled due to it. Sandeep Agarwal, the organizer of Denim and Jeans, says, “Amid the outbreak of the insidious coronavirus, we've decided to postpone the Japan show. We'll announce the new dates after considering and evaluating the situation further.”
