Activewear Indie Darling Outdoor Voices Launches Its First SwimWear Collection
/Austin-based activewear line Outdoor Voices has launched its first swimwear collection today, called H2OV. The new color-blocked swim gear is available in eight women’s styles, with complementary accessories including a beach towel and retro Freestyle watch. The brand says that the new line is, “built for water sports and… inspires playfulness through activity and infuses energy through the use of bold colors in a color-blocking pattern that’s true to OV.”
Known for its Instagram-friendly pastel tones and fitness gear, this swimwear collection is a stylistic departure from previous collections. CEO and Founder Tyler Haney says of the new colorways that, “We feel strongly that color, especially bright color, can add energy to your outfit and help motivate you to move. Swim gave us an opportunity to play with bolder colors and new silhouettes in a fresh way.”
When asked about product inspiration and process, Haney shared that, “Product creation kicked off with a deep dive into what our customer was asking for and several rounds of testing. Last year we hosted an event at Barton Springs, near our Austin HQ, with some customers when we received our first round of samples. We got a lot of feedback that helped shape our approach—actually, none of those original styles or materials made it through the final cut. Through each round, we've tested through a range of activities such as swimming, water skiing and surfing, as well as in various climates, and we've landed on a fabric and fit that we're really proud of.”
The H2OV line is now available at select Outdoor Voice retail stores and on outdoorvoices.com.
