Hundreds in bathing suits on ski slopes attempt world record
The scantily-clad revelers were gathered at Rosa Khutor for the second annual BoogelWoogel, which ran from Thursday to Sunday and — according to the Daily Mail — attracted around 20,000 people this year.
The end-of-season festival for the Sochi resort features a number of different activities to celebrate the onset of spring, including a “beach” volleyball contest on the slopes and pond skimming competitions.
But the marquee event of the weekend was undoubtedly the swimsuit ride.
This year, the resort hoped to break the Guinness World Record it set last year, when it brought 1,008 skiers and snowboarders dressed in their best swim attire to the Rosa Khutor slopes for BoogelWoogel.
While the results of this year’s world record attempt have yet to be confirmed by Guinness, the Daily Mail reports that the 2017 edition of BoogelWoogel drew around 1,200 riders.
