KRELwear, a locally based collection of handmade tropical knits, will take over the Freehand Hotel (2727 Indian Creek Drive) with a Hawaiian Luau on July 19, from 6-9 p.m., during Miami Swim Week. Founder and designer Karelle Levy will present new resort pieces inspired by retro Hawaiian pop culture.
An informal fashion show for limited edition and one-off styles will be staged throughout the lobby and garden. The event also features a pop-up shop and “Stitch N Bitch,” a monthly knitting workshop for novices to experts taught by Levy. Peroni will sponsor a photo booth, while DJ Camp Gabby (Gabby Mejia) will provide the tunes.
Levy founded KRELwear in 2002. She and her design assistant Eva Rodriguez hand-loom lightweight, breathable fabrics for dresses, caftans, tops, skirts, hot shorts, rompers and accessories. Exclusively developed fabrics are made with plant-based fibers for chic, comfortable looks.
KRELwear atelier and boutique is located at Miami Ironside. 7520 NW 4th Court, Suite 107; 305.528.2755; krelwear.com. RSVP@KRELWEAR.COM
